Mobile police station visits town centre to "ensure safety" of residents and businesses

Date published: 17 December 2024

Rochdale town centre saw a bolstered police presence on Friday (13 December), as officers set up a mobile police station outside the Regal Moon pub.

The initiative was part of an effort to ensure the safety and security of residents and businesses, while also fostering a welcoming atmosphere for those enjoying the area during the evening and night.

The high-visibility patrols aimed to reassure the local community, with officers engaging directly with members of the public. Speaking about the initiative, a spokesperson said the presence of the mobile police station was intended to “create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.”

Rochdale residents were encouraged to stop by the station to meet local officers, raise concerns, or simply say hello.

While the mobile station was a one-day event, police have continued their visible patrols in the area as part of an ongoing effort to address safety concerns.
