Teen suffers life changing injuries after serious knife attack

A teenager and a man are recovering in hospital after a violent knife attack in Smallbridge, Rochdale, on Sunday evening (15 December). Both sustained serious and life-changing injuries during the incident.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance in the area and found the two victims suffering from stab wounds. They were taken to hospital.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and violent disorder and are currently in police custody.

Detectives have cordoned off areas around Lorne Street, Kitter Street and Buckley View as investigations continue. Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the attack to come forward.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers responded to reports of a disturbance in Smallbridge, Rochdale at around 6.18pm yesterday evening (Sunday 15 November 2024).

"A man and a male juvenile were stabbed and suffered serious injuries, which are believed to be life-changing and they both remain in hospital receiving treatment.

"Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and violent disorder. They remain in police custody.

"Scenes remain in place on Lorne Street, Kitter Street and Buckley View areas of Smallbridge as officers continue to investigate the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time who may hold information that could assist with the investigation.
