St Cuthbert's Triangular Foodbank Trees
Triangular Foodbank Trees
The cold wet weather hasn’t stopped St Cuthbert’s students from thinking of others. Donations for the foodbank are already being displayed in the Dome and are being made into triangular Christmas trees. We are hoping to make as many trees as we can with a view to completing a ‘we “can” do it’ tin trail from our main building to the Nativity scene.
Nativity Crib
This week every student during their Religious Education lesson will visit the Nativity Crib located by the assembly hall. Students will have the opportunity to bring an offering which can be anything from a prayer to a donation towards the Foodbank appeal.
Christmas Jumper Day
Friday 14 December is Christmas Jumper Day for students and staff. Students are welcome to wear something festive i.e. green or red jumper / Christmas accessory if they do not have a jumper (the rest of attire must be school uniform) a ‘Christmas Accessory’ could be a tie, earrings, headband, hair scrunchy etc. Staff are asked to make a donation of £1.00 and students can donate whatever they wish.
Proceeds will support the Mizen charity which raises money to build safer communities in the name of Jimmy Mizen who was killed during an unprovoked attack in 2008 Jimmy was only 16 at the time. Barry & Margaret Mizen (his parents) share Jimmy’s story across the country in schools, churches, prisons, Pupil Referral Units, community groups, conferences and businesses.
Year 11 Study Hall is in full flow
Year 11 Study Hall is now in full flow with over 60 students already taking advantage of this facility. Students are invited along to Cuisine every night to get an hour’s revision done with teachers and fellow pupils before they go home to do their independent studying. Any Year 10 and 11 students are welcome to come along and make the most of the facility. The Cuisine will be open every night until the end of the GCSE exams in June to allow students to prepare properly for their exams.
