Littleborough ABC’s Leevan Fong Junior has won the county championships of the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs.
The 15-year-old St Cuthbert’s pupil beat the Carlisle county champion Jack Lindsay in the 60-63kg category on 5 November.
Leevan won by unanimous decision giving Jack two standing 8 counts and will now go through to the national stages of the competition.
His coach, Mark Oldham, said: “We all know how hard Leevan works. He put in a disciplined, punch-perfect performance against a very strong opponent from Carlisle.
“With two standing counts, he kept his boxing compact and pieced together his strong inside work with very good long work. It's great when you have been working on things in the gym to see them put together and into a bout.”
Leevan has previously held two North West titles and been named the Hull Box Champion.
