Rochdale Sixth Form College celebrates outstanding achievements at annual event

Rochdale Sixth Form College hosted its annual celebration evening in December, bringing together students, staff, and alumni to honour the remarkable achievements of the past two years.
The event served as a proud moment for the Rochdale community, as former students returned to collect their official exam certificates and celebrate their exceptional contributions during their time at the college.
Principal Karl Smith led the evening by presenting a series of prestigious awards to recognise the outstanding accomplishments of students who have excelled academically, supported their peers, and contributed to the community.
Highlighting the evening was Chloe Carroll, named student of the year for her unwavering dedication, passion, and resilience.
Chloe, whose aspiration to pursue veterinary science was a driving force during her time at the college, impressed staff and peers with her tireless work ethic and infectious enthusiasm.
Her positivity and ability to inspire those around her created a supportive environment that will long be remembered at Rochdale Sixth Form College.
Qasim Amin was recognised with an award for outstanding dedication. His ability to balance academic excellence with mentoring others and advancing his professional development set him apart as a role model among his peers.
Similarly, Jhony Hernandez Castro was honoured for 'outstanding dedication', with his perseverance and focus celebrated as a testament to his determination.
His achievements highlighted the rewards of hard work, inspiring both students and staff across the college.
Lauren Sanderson, who served as Student Union president, received the award for 'outstanding contribution to college life'.
Lauren managed to balance her academic responsibilities with an active role in supporting events, staff, and students, making her a vital part of the college community during her time there.
The evening also recognised efforts beyond the college itself, with Elizabeth Crompton receiving the award for outstanding contribution to the local community.
Her compassionate leadership and commitment to creating positive change were commended as a reflection of her dedication to making a meaningful impact within Rochdale and beyond.
Speaking at the event, Principal Karl Smith said: “The evening was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the incredible achievements of our students. Their hard work, passion, and determination have left a lasting impact on our college community, and we are immensely proud of their success."
The celebration evening reaffirmed Rochdale Sixth Form College’s role as a hub for nurturing talent and fostering community spirit, highlighting the extraordinary contributions of its students to the town and beyond.
