Monday disruption expected as snow and ice warning remains in place

Date published: 06 January 2025

A Met Office warning remains in place today (Monday 6 January) for snow and ice, with extra precautions being advised for anyone travelling.

Rochdale Council posted last night (Sunday) that the gritters would be active once again, to try and keep the roads in good condition ahead of the Monday commute.

Further snow is expected in places, along with icy stretches, leading to some disruption, especially to travel.

Numerous trains to and from Rochdale were cancelled yesterday after an overnight snowfall. Though they are back up and running today, it is advised to check your journey before you travel.
