Fly through new sixth form college

Date published: 10 August 2009

It may be over a year away from completion, but you can already take a tour around the new Rochdale Sixth Form College.

The college's website recently went live and includes a virtual fly-through tour inside the new development, which shows how the state-of-the-art building will look once completed.

Visitors to the website can enter a competition and be in with a chance of winning an Apple iPod Nano, as well as downloading the latest newsletter, and read information about what the college will offer potential students; from Media, Creative and Performing Arts courses through to Business and IT.

Julian Appleyard, Principal, said: “There’s lots of information on the site and a chance to find out more about the impressive teaching facilities and courses. Students from the schools I’ve visited have been very interested in the new college and the answers to many of the questions I’ve been being asked can be found on the website. We want all people across the borough to visit the site and see how this exciting new development will look.”

Councillor Zulfiqar Ali, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, said: “This new college is really taking shape. The launch of the website will provide residents with an opportunity to find out more and see the great facility that will change A-level education in the borough.”

Information about the different teaching and non-teaching vacancies that are available at the Sixth Form College will soon be published on the website.
