Snow and ice warning has been issued for the weekend
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow this weekend, highlighting potential disruptions for residents in Rochdale and surrounding areas.
The warning is in place from Saturday 4 January, until 9am on Monday 6 January.
Local authorities are urging residents to take extra care as icy conditions are expected to impact untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths.
Public safety officials are recommending extra vigilance over the weekend to avoid slips and falls, as well as taking extra care on the roads.
With cold temperatures set to bring snow and ice, locals are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid unnecessary risks and ensure personal safety during this period of wintry weather.
The Met Office has reminded everyone to be prepared for weather warnings to change, urging people to regularly check the weather forecast for the Rochdale area and take appropriate precautions.
