Retail sales squeezed

Retail sales rose just 0.1% in July, reflecting the continued squeeze on household incomes, according to the British Retail Consortium.
Online retail sales rose 15.6% in July compared with the same time last year. Cooler weather helped at the beginning of the month as consumers spent more time at home, the BRC said.
