Date published: 18 December 2024

A man has been arrested for breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in Rochdale Town Centre, highlighting the ongoing efforts to maintain safety and security in the area.

The man was spotted via CCTV on Yorkshire Street on the evening of Sunday, 15 December 2024. The man was found to be in direct violation of his CBO, which specifically prohibits him from entering the town centre.

Following the incident, evidence was gathered and passed on to the police, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Greater Manchester Police’s P1 Neighbourhood Policing Team praised the swift action of CCTV operators and local authorities for helping enforce the order.

"This demonstrates the ongoing efforts of local authorities and CCTV operators to ensure the safety and security of our community," said the police team.

They added that breaches of Criminal Behaviour Orders are taken very seriously, reinforcing their commitment to working alongside the police and other agencies to uphold these measures.

The police also thanked Rochdale residents for their continued cooperation and encouraged anyone with information about suspicious or criminal activity to report it to the authorities.
