PCSOs step up Bamford patrols following concerns over local crime

Date published: 12 December 2024

PCSOs from the Rochdale North team are increasing their presence in the Bamford area in response to reports of local stores being targeted by known offenders.

A key focus of the stepped-up patrols will be the Bamford Precinct, where some businesses have reportedly faced issues with crime.

Officers aim to provide reassurance to the community and deter criminal activity through these high-visibility patrols.

“If you see us, feel free to come and have a chat,” the Rochdale North team said. Officers hope to engage with local residents during their rounds to strengthen ties with the community and gather any relevant information about ongoing issues.

The initiative underscores the team’s commitment to addressing concerns specific to Rochdale’s neighbourhoods. Businesses in the Bamford Precinct have welcomed the increased visibility, with local shopkeepers expressing hope that this move will help reduce theft and other criminal behaviour.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the PCSOs during their patrols or through the usual reporting channels.
