Yellow weather warning: Heavy rain and winds
Date published: 05 December 2024
rain
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office as heavy rain sweeps across the region this afternoon, Thursday, 5 December.
The downpour is expected to bring 20 to 30 mm of rain within a few hours, raising concerns about surface water flooding and travel disruptions.
The Met Office advised that the rain will likely move eastwards and clear through the early evening. Along with the intense rainfall, gusty and potentially squally winds are anticipated, which could exacerbate the risk of localised damage.
