Police zone in on homelessness and anti-social behaviour in Rochdale town centre

Date published: 01 November 2024

Rochdale’s Neighbourhood Policing Team has been actively patrolling Rochdale town centre this week, focusing on areas known for homelessness and anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Key locations included Yorkshire Street, the M&S car park, Riverside, the bus station, and Church Stile.

In a recent action, officers successfully served housing injunction papers to a woman identified for recurring anti-social behaviour.

Officers noted that she is now fully aware of the specific guidelines she must follow to avoid arrest. Should these terms be breached, an arrestable offence will be enforced, said the officers.

The initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the Rochdale Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team to address ASB and improve safety and security for the town’s residents and visitors.
