A Night at the Musicals
On Saturday 5 October, Boro’ Brass and Littleborough Brass Band came together for a spectacular performance, celebrating the best of musical theatre at the Littleborough Brass Bands Association's first-ever "A Night at the Musicals" concert.
Held at St. Andrew's Church in Dearnley, the event attracted over 100 enthusiastic concertgoers.
The audience was treated to an impressive selection of iconic pieces from some of the most beloved musicals of all time, including Les Misérables, Wicked, The Greatest Showman, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Sound of Music.
The programme showcased a wide range of musical styles, from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ballads to the triumphant anthems of Les Misérables, allowing both bands to demonstrate their musical prowess. The variety and quality of the performance were met with great appreciation from the audience.
The event raised over £750 to support the running of all the bands within the association. The Association expressed their gratitude to the local businesses and individuals who generously contributed to the evening’s raffle, as well as to the audience for their support through ticket purchases.
All proceeds will help to ensure the continued success of the bands and enable future events like this in Littleborough.
Looking ahead, the association's next performances include the annual Remembrance Concert on Saturday 9 November at Holy Trinity Church in Littleborough, followed by the ever-popular Christmas Concert at St. Andrew's on Saturday 14 December.
