Lancashire Police have closed an area of a road in Whitworth after a car crashed into a stationary vehicle and hit a gas pipe at a nearby house.
Officers closed the road in both directions on Market Street at approximately 2pm, while engineers from Cadent Gas attended the scene to repair the pipe.
The car was reported to have overturned, though police have confirmed that no one was seriously hurt in the incident, which occurred shortly before 2pm on Friday (4 October).
The road is expected to remain closed for a short time this afternoon, which may impact traffic in the area.
Cadent Gas has been approached for comment.
