Three arrested in crackdown on Rochdale drug offences

Officers from Rochdale Police Station have arrested and charged three individuals in connection with drug offences following a proactive operation in the area. The arrests, involving teams from Neighbourhood, Tutor Unit, and Challenger Teams, are part of an ongoing investigation centred on the Freehold estate, known as Operation Affect.

Anthony Shaw, 60, of Hartlebury, Freehold, Rochdale, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

Chukwudi Ejim, 20, of Cover Drive, Rochdale, faces charges of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, and two counts of possession of criminal property.

Arfan Khan, 50, of Drake Street, Rochdale, has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

All three men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Manchester & Salford Magistrates' Court on Saturday 28 September 2024.

The arrests come as a result of ongoing investigations and a proactive police operation aimed at tackling drug-related offences in the local community.

Greater Manchester Police encourage residents to report incidents via the non-emergency number 101 or through their website. For emergencies, residents are urged to dial 999.
