Cars engulfed in flames as fire spreads to nearby house

Emergency services were called to a large blaze in the early hours of Monday morning (23 September), after two cars caught fire, with flames quickly spreading to a nearby house.

Firefighters and police arrived at the scene on Clover Hall Crescent, Belfield, around 3am, working to bring the situation under control. 

The fire service confirmed that the fire originated with two vehicles, before extending to the exterior of a semi-detached property.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing. 

Greater Manchester Police are leading the inquiry to determine the circumstances behind the incident. No further details have been released by authorities at this stage.

Local residents have been urged to remain cautious as the investigation continues.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), said: “At just after 3am on Monday (September 23) three fire engines from Rochdale and Littleborough fire station attended a fire involving two vehicles, which subsequently spread to the outside of a semi-detached house, on Clover Hall Crescent, Rochdale.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels to extinguish the fire and worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police in making the surrounding area safe. Crews were in attendance for around one hour and 40 minutes.”
