Multiple arrests in town centre 'anti-social behaviour patrols'

Date published: 23 September 2024

Rochdale town centre tram stops and bus interchange has seen heightened police patrols in recent weeks as part of an ongoing operation to tackle anti-social behaviour.

Officers have been carrying out several stop-and-searches, acting on intelligence gathered from the local community. These efforts have led to a number of arrests and the seizure of illegal items, including controlled drugs, imitation firearms, and e-scooters or e-bikes.

Greater Manchester Police continue to urge residents to report any concerns.

In emergencies, people should call 999, while less urgent matters can be reported via 101.

Many services are also accessible online at: gmp.police.uk

The operation remains ongoing as authorities work to ensure the safety and security of the town centre.
