Warm-hearted bikers donate cash to scout club after they were targeted by vandalism

Date published: 15 September 2024

Warm-hearted bikers from MT Heads Motorcycle Club have donated £1,550 to the 7th A Rochdale Scout Group after hosting a successful charity bike show at Falinge Park. The funds were raised to support the group, whose scout hut was recently broken into and vandalised, causing significant distress to the local children and volunteers.

A spokesperson for the MT Heads MCC explained their motivation for stepping in to help: "We heard about the Scout hut being broken into and vandalised and wanted to help.

"We would like to thank the children for all their help on the day, they did a fabulous job litter picking. We'd also like to thank the volunteers at Vintage Worx, Falinge Park, and everyone who supported the event."

The event drew strong support from the local community, with both motorcycle enthusiasts and families gathering to enjoy the show and contribute to a good cause.

The scouts' involvement on the day not only helped ensure the event ran smoothly, but also brought the community together, with the children playing an active role in litter picking and keeping the park clean.

This is not the first time MT Heads MCC has extended their generosity to the local community. Recently, the club also donated a substantial amount of rehabilitation equipment to Fairfield Stroke Unit. The donation will assist stroke patients from across the borough as they recover and regain mobility.

  • For those interested in learning more about MT Heads MCC or getting involved in their future activities, the club meets every Monday from 7pm at Rochdale Ukrainian Club, located at 15 Mere Street, Rochdale, OL11 1HJ.
  • The club's next charity event will be a rock music night, scheduled for 28 September at the Ukrainian Club. All proceeds will go towards supporting more local causes.
