Record GCSE results for St Anne’s Academy

St Anne’s Academy in Middleton is celebrating its best-ever GCSE results this summer, with students achieving a remarkable 220 high-level grades, including 50 grade 9s (or equivalent).

Chris Heyes, headteacher, said: "I would like to congratulate our Year 11 students on their amazing achievements. Our fantastic GCSE results are testament to the hard work and dedication shown by our students and staff in school on a daily basis.

"Everyone at St Anne’s sends our Year 11 leavers best wishes for their next steps and we look forward to hearing about their future successes."

Among the standout performers is Zara Akbar, who has been recognised as St Anne’s highest-achieving student. Zara secured nine grade 9s and one grade 8, placing her among the top students nationwide for achieving a perfect number of grade 9s in her GCSEs.

Her grade 9s were awarded in biology, chemistry, physics, English language, English literature, maths, geography, psychology, and statistics, with a grade 8 in further maths. Her headteacher expressed his pride, saying: "Zara has been an exceptional student, and we are all extremely proud of her for achieving these fantastic grades."

Several other students also achieved notable results:

  • Oluwaseun Favour Sosanya earned six grade 9s and three grade 8s.
  • Anastasia Papazeti achieved five grade 9s, four grade 8s, and one grade 7.
  • Aliyat Garuba received four grade 9s, one grade 8, and four grade 7s.
  • Lucas Neto secured seven grade 8s and three grade 7s.
  • Melissa Odigie attained three grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s, and two grade 6s.
  • Chinaza Egu Shenkoya achieved one grade 9, five grade 8s, two grade 7s, and a grade 6.
  • Favour Joseph obtained five grade 8s and four grade 7s.

The academy extends its heartfelt congratulations to all its Year 11 students and looks forward to their future achievements.
