Man fighting for life after being stabbed following car crash

A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed after a car crash in Middleton on Monday night (29 July).

Emergency services were dispatched to Rochdale Road around 8.30pm following reports of a road traffic incident.

Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from stab wounds. He was promptly transported to the hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police and paramedics swiftly secured the area. The collision occurred near the Hollin Lane junction, which remained cordoned off late into the evening as investigations continued.

A GMP spokesperson said: "We were called to Rochdale Road in Middleton, Rochdale at around 8.30pm tonight to initial reports of a road traffic collision.

"Officers arrived and found a man with stab wounds and is currently receiving treatment for what is believed to be life-threatening injuries. A scene remains in place whilst detectives continue to conduct enquiries."
