TV presenter AJ Odudu joins Rochdale pupils at exciting R-Kix charity event

Date published: 29 July 2024

St Patrick’s RC Primary School pupils enjoyed a memorable day at R-Kix recently, where they had the chance to sharpen their football skills in a lively game of 5-a-side whilst supporting local charities.

The event was attended by R-Kix founders Richard Tracz and Chuko Odudu, who shared their vision for the sports venue and highlighted their efforts to support charities including Rochdale Connections Trust, Army of Kindness Rochdale, Caring Sharing Hub, the Lighthouse Project and The Bond Board.

With generous donations of sportswear from companies like Footasylum, R-Kix is demonstrating the power of the local business community in nurturing future sporting talents.

Television presenter AJ Odudu, best known as a presenter on Big Brother, happens to be the sister of Chuko. She was also present to witness the impactful work being done by R-Kix to promote social mobility and provide opportunities for children in Rochdale.

AJ’s nephew, who was coached by Richard, has since been signed by Liverpool Football Club, underscoring the venue's success in developing young athletes.

In a series of inspiring speeches, Richard, Chuko, and AJ addressed the attendees, emphasising the importance of community support in fostering local talent. AJ later shared her thoughts on the visit, expressing her admiration for Rochdale’s community spirit and the way it unites people.

The event not only highlighted the potential of young athletes but also showcased the collaborative efforts of Rochdale's local businesses and community leaders in creating opportunities for the next generation.
