George Galloway campaigner attacked outside polling station

A female campaigner for the Workers Party of Britain was reportedly attacked outside a polling station in Littleborough this morning (4 July).

Police were called to Victoria Street, Littleborough, shortly after 11.00am. It is alleged that a man assaulted the woman outside the Littleborough United Reformed Church - which is being used as a polling station for today's General Election.

Greater Manchester Police attended the scene. It has been confirmed that no injuries were sustained in the incident and no arrests have been made.

A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers responded to reports of an assault on Victoria Street in Littleborough at around 11.27am this morning (Thursday 4 July).

"A woman was assaulted by a male. No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made."
