Rochdale Occupational Health Service gearing up for Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge

Date published: 12 July 2023

Members of Rochdale Occupational Health Service are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge next month for Springhill Hospice.

Reece Mundy, Dayna Hesketh, Helen Yates, Hannah Whitham, Dave Thomas, Bernadette Comer, Adam Daniels, and Sarah Day will take to the heights of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough in the scenic Yorkshire Dales on 6 August.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a challenging full day circular route of hill walking in the Yorkshire Dales, approximately 24 miles in length with an elevation gain of over 1,000m.

Starting and finishing in Horton-in Ribblesdale, climbers aim to scale the summits of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m).

They have already raised over £1,600 for the hospice, with donations being accepted until 6 September.

Reece Mundy, Rochdale Occupational Health Service’s social media marketing and project coordinator, said: “Before even embarking on this exciting adventure, we have been deeply moved by the outpouring of generosity from our supporters. Donors from all walks of life have come forward, contributing to our cause with their heartfelt contributions.

“We want to express our sincere gratitude to each and every individual who has donated.

“Donations will remain open until 6 September. This extended period allows more individuals to contribute to this worthy cause and support Springhill Hospice.

“We encourage everyone who believes in the power of compassion and community to consider making a donation and making a difference in the lives of those in need.”

Donations can be made via JustGiving:
