Piano tutor Margarita Capas with her students
On Sunday 25 June, at St. Chad's church, private piano tutor Margarita Capas and her students delivered ovation-worthy performances of popular movie and TV show themes.
The concert kicked off with Margarita and her daughter performing the main theme from "Interstellar" in a piano duet arrangement. The second performance, the "Pink Panther Theme" by 8-year-old Nojus, amusingly contrasted with the solitary and introspective mood set by the first duet.
Enhanced by movie scenes projected next to the piano, the impressive performances did not disappoint. The iconic Harry Potter theme was rendered by Nicole with assistance from her father. A tranquil and serene Forest Gump theme, a vibrant and emotional medley from "Mary Poppins", and famous Disney tunes from "Beauty and the Beast", "The Lion King", "Toy Story", "Coco", "The Little Mermaid", "Mulan", and many more, all took the audience on a cinematic journey.
The concert was filled with a wide array of moods, from the thrilling; "Chariots of Fire", "Sherlock", "Matrix", "Pirates of the Caribbean", to melancholic; "Wizard of Oz", "River Flows in You", "Cinema Paradiso", and captivating; "Hercules", "How to Train Your Dragon", "Rick & Morty", "Trolls".
The concert concluded with the most entertaining and uplifting medley from "The Greatest Showman", arranged for four hands which was performed by Margarita and her son, Marijus.
Margarita's students hold public concerts twice a year, with the next one coming just before Christmas. If you would like to experience something special, an event filled with talent, excitement, and a whole range of emotions, you are very welcome to come and be part of it.
