Local community groups welcome over £19,000 of funding from Action Together

Date published: 08 July 2023

Local charity, Action Together, has reported a successful first quarter of investment for 2023 with its Rochdale Communities Fund Micro Grants.

Operating across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside, Action Together is committed to supporting and empowering communities. It secures investment that supports local action, removing barriers and helping to get funding to where it is needed most.

Since launching its Rochdale Communities Fund Micro Grants three months ago, Action Together has provided funding for 19 unique community projects that are really making a difference to the people of Rochdale Borough.

This investment totalled more than £19,000 and has enabled local charities and voluntary groups to deliver a diverse range of projects and activities, from wellbeing and mental health sessions to academic support and food parcels.

Some of the projects that have been delivered by community groups based in Rochdale so far this year include a warm welcome space at Kirkholt Community Church, a homework club for BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) teenagers, and a series of arts and crafts activities for BAME women.

Action Together’s Grants and Membership Administrator, Hayley Tomlinson, said: "I'm so thrilled that this round of funding from 2023 Quarter 1 has benefitted so many wonderful causes. It's great to know that the work we do to secure this investment is directly improving the quality of life for members of our Rochdale community. We’re excited to launch the second round and fund even more great community ideas!"
