The body of a man has been found in the river Roch near to the two Rochdale colleges on Wednesday (28 June).
At approximately 6.30am this morning, police received reports of a body in the river Roch.
After closing off St Mary's Gate, GMP were joined by the fire and ambulance services to recover the body of the man, who was sadly deceased.
A spokesperson for the police confirmed: “Investigations are now ongoing to identify the man and contact his next of kin.”
