Milnrow & Newhey Carnival 2023

Date published: 26 June 2023

Hundreds of people lined the streets for this year’s Milnrow and Newhey Carnival on 17 June.

This year, there was no parade theme, with groups donning their most colourful outfits as they followed behind the brass band and Mayor and Mayoress Mike and Margaret Holly.

A vibrant and lively parade set off from Haugh Lane before carrying on along Huddersfield Road, Newhey Road, and Station Road, before returning along Bridge Street to Milnrow Memorial Park, where a funfair, variety of stalls and live music could be enjoyed by all.

This year’s beneficiary pf the carnival street collection is Jolly Josh, a local children’s charity which helps children living with complex medical needs and physical disabilities.
