Man arrested in connection with drug offences after police seize 2.5kg of Class A drugs

Date published: 23 June 2023

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Officers from GMP's County Lines Team supported by local officers from the Rochdale district executed a warrant at an address in Rochdale in the early hours of Wednesday morning (21 June 2023).

A search of an associated business property on College Road saw approximately 2.5kg of Class A drugs recovered.

The man was subsequently charged and remanded ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.

Detective Sergeant Chris Woodburn from GMP’s County Lines team said: “This is a fantastic find for us, a lot of hours and hard work have gone into this operation which has seen us take a substantial amount of drugs off the streets.

“Our intelligence from the local community plays a big part in helping up understand and recognise the signs of drug activity occurring in their neighbourhood and reporting what you deem to be suspicious, and just like today, we will act on it.

“Any information you have – no matter how small – can be reported anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or GMP via 101.”
