Dr. Kershaw's Hospice
HMR Circle, the award-winning social enterprise based in Rochdale is looking for more volunteer drivers to support its new partnership with Dr. Kershaw's Hospice in Royton.
Thanks to funding from Dr. Kershaw's Hospice HMR Circle is launching a reliable and affordable transport service for people attending selected classes or support services at the hospice for people who are unable, or find it difficult, to use public transport.
The service starts on the 31 July and Circle and Dr. Kershaw's are actively recruiting volunteer drivers to support this new service.
Volunteer drivers will use their own vehicles to provide a door-to-door, flexible, transport service. For each journey, a contribution is calculated at just 45p per mile – to reimburse the driver the cost of petrol and to support the costs of insuring and maintaining their vehicles.
Circle director, Mark Wynn said: "We are excited to be launching this new service with Dr. Kershaw's and look forward to working with the staff and volunteers at Dr. Kershaw's to support people attending sessions as the hospice. If anyone is interested in getting involved as a Volunteer Driver please give us a call on 01706 751165."
