The inaugural Springhill Hospice Food and Drink Festival on 3 June was a resounding success, raising over £1,600.
Hundreds of supporters turned up to soak up the sunshine and atmosphere of the day, with a plethora of delicious food and drink stalls on offer to choose from.
From African specialties to Indian cuisine and even stalls dedicated solely to mouth-watering desserts, there was something for everyone.
Jo Ali, community engagement officer and event organiser, said, "It was such a fantastic day seeing so many people enjoying themselves; the entertainment really set a fun atmosphere and great backdrop for everyone to treat themselves to all the many foods on offer. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
The Food and Drink Festival raised an incredible £1,689, which will help further hospice care for the whole of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.
A special thank you goes to the entertainment – Alfie Saddington, Andy Stott and Northern Stars – and also to The Quirky Catering Company for sponsoring the event.
