A team of Greater Manchester Police neighbourhood officers recovered nearly 500 suspected cannabis plants during an early morning warrant in Rochdale this morning (Monday 5 June).
Officers entered a property in Rooley Moor Road following weeks of extensive intelligence-gathering within the community, including work by PCSOs who regularly patrol the local area.
Within the address, approximately 200 plants were found on the ground floor, along with a further 275 on the first floor.
Remnants of suspected further grows were also found, including various paraphernalia, power packs, and other growing materials.
One man, aged 28, has been arrested under suspicion of cultivation of Class B drugs and abstracting electricity.
Enquiries are currently ongoing.
PC Giblin, from GMP's Rochdale neighbourhood team, said: "We are committed to acting on intelligence when we get it and we take any reports we receive very seriously. This was a great result for our neighbourhood team and I hope this morning's warrant shows that we are determined to keep the streets of Rochdale safe."
