Whitworth man charged with burglary following incidents in South Cumbria

The charges are in connection with Operation Firm, an extensive operation investigating burglaries across South Cumbria
A man from Whitworth has been charged following reports of multiple burglaries in the South Lakes area in Cumbria.
Craig Butterworth, 50, has been charged with five counts of burglary dwelling and theft, and four counts of burglary with intent to steal.
The charges are in connection with Operation Firm, an extensive operation investigating burglaries across South Cumbria.
Acting detective inspector Lee Brumpton, Westmorland & Furness CID, said: “We know the impact that offences such as burglary can have on victims and our officers are committed to protecting our communities.
“We have dedicated officers targeting those who look to commit burglaries and other theft offences.
“If you notice any suspicious activity in your area, I would encourage you to report this to police so we can investigate.
“Reporting information can help prevent such offences occurring.”
