Two organisations and a boxing club owner - all from Middleton - have been shortlisted in the BBC Make A Difference Awards.
Cold Hands Warm Hearts, Historic Cheapside and Martyn Lynch have all been named finalists in the annual awards, which were launched during the pandemic and celebrate local people across each BBC radio station.
Four finalists are shortlisted in each category: Together, Green, Bravery, Carer, Great Neighbour, Fundraiser, Volunteer and Community Group.
The Cold Hands Warm Hearts charity, which aims to make sure no rough sleepers or homeless in Manchester go hungry or without the essentials, has made it to the final four of the Together category.
The Together award is presented to “an individual or group of people who inspire diverse communities to come together. They do this by creating real change and breaking down barriers, bringing people from different walks of life together for a common cause.”
They said: “We don't do what we do for recognition so it's truly humbling to receive this.
“And we cannot do it without the support of our volunteers, supporters and community.”

Community gardening group Historic Cheapside, led by Paula Hickey and Martin Cove, has been shortlisted for the Green award, presented to those who help to make where we live more environmentally friendly and better for nature.
They said: “We are thrilled and proud to be nominated for the BBC Radio Manchester, Make a Difference Awards in the Green category. Shortlisted from hundreds of entries into the final four!
“For Historic Cheapside to be recognised and nominated has been a huge boost for all our volunteers. Thank you to whomever nominated us.”
Martyn Lynch, of Middleton Select ABC, has also been shortlisted as a finalist due to his fundraising for good causes.
He said: “Thanks to the people who nominated me. I don’t care if I win or not, but I feel honoured to have got this far.
“The finalists are all people who help out in the community and any other charity events. I feel humbled. Uncle Lynchy is feeling extremely proud.”
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and awards will be given in each of the eight categories in September.
