Mind art groups have art displayed in Rochdale Exchange

Date published: 20 May 2023

Members of local art groups facilitated by artist Dani Burke at Rochdale & District Mind have had their art publicly displayed in the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre.

The artwork forms part of the Rochdale Art Wall, a public art project that is brightening up an empty unit.

Dani said: “Exhibiting your art is a very raw and personal thing and the fact that my service users wanted their names on the wall to raise awareness on the therapeutic benefits that creating art has on mental health speaks volumes.

“I'm so proud of every single one of them and their creations.

“If you get a chance to visit our exhibition in the Rochdale Exchange, please do and show your support.”

She added: “I have also featured a little statement including all the info you need on how you can access my art groups with Rochdale & District Mind and how to get involved in lots of our other amazing sessions too, plus how to receive mental health support should you need it.”

Dani is a successful abstract artist who runs sessions at the Mind Wellbeing Centre on Drake Street, as well as her own creative sessions for teenagers at Castleton Library as well as similar sessions for adults at Touchstones.
