Share your views on care in nursing and residential homes in the Rochdale borough

Date published: 01 December 2022

Healthwatch Rochdale are asking local people to share their views on nursing and residential homes in the Rochdale borough to see what is working well and where improvements are needed.

Prior to the Covid 19 pandemic Healthwatch Rochdale carried out a two year Enter & View programme in care homes. This involved going into the home and speaking to residents, their family and friends, staff members and management.

The programme helped Healthwatch Rochdale have a good understanding of the level of care and service that was being provided in care homes. Reports and recommendations were made to help share good practice between care homes and help raise standards in the quality of personalised care.

Due to the ending of the Enter & View programme Healthwatch Rochdale have seen a decline in the feedback they have been receiving in this area. They are now asking care home residents, their friends and family, staff members and any others who have contact with care homes to share their views and opinions to help them understand how well care home services are working.

Kate Jones, Healthwatch Rochdale CEO, said: “Our Advisory Group have told us they want to have a better understanding of the service that is being provided in care & residential homes and so we are asking people to share their experiences with us. We want to hear the good stories as well as what you thinks need to improve. You can share your views with us anonymously if preferred and can always speak to us in confidence.”
