Applications are now open for the Parklife Community Fund, run by Parklife in collaboration with Manchester, Bury and Rochdale councils.
The Parklife 2022 Community Fund has generated £57,375 for community groups based around Heaton Park
The fund is raised from contributions made at the festival by guest-list attendees, and an additional £8,000 was raised through festival tickets being donated to various charities for raffles and auctions – taking the total amount raised for charitable causes from Parklife 2022 to just over £65,000.
The Rochdale fund covers South Middleton with £2,050 available.
The micro grants fund (for up to £750) supports groups in the three Greater Manchester districts. There is £10,375 available for community groups who want to grow an idea or need a smaller amount of funding. This can be for activity in any of the above wards.
Groups applying for these smaller pots of money will need to have received money previously from one of the local councils (Bury, Manchester, Rochdale) or be known to them and there is a limit of £750.
Applications to the micro grant fund are made direct to Parklife and groups can either apply for a micro grant or a borough fund grant from Bury, Rochdale or Manchester, but not both.
In addition to the priorities of parks and open spaces, and young people, for this year applicants are welcomed to think about the cost-of-living crisis and whether their project can contribute to relieving the hardship.
Groups will be notified by the end of February 2023 of the outcome of their application.
Please email communityfund@parklife.uk.com for a Rochdale funding application form or a micro grant application form.
Any questions, or for support and advice, please email communityfund@parklife.uk.com.
The closing deadline for applications is Friday 13 January 2023.
