Petrus appeals for donations of warm winter clothing for homeless

Date published: 30 November 2022

Winter can be a cold and lonely time. Especially if you don’t have somewhere to call home.

Rochdale-based homelessness charity, Petrus, provides residential and day support services to people who are homeless or in housing need across Greater Manchester.

As the cold months creep in, they want to ensure that all of the people who use their services are warm this winter – and they need your help.

Petrus is asking for donations of hats, gloves, socks, hand warmers and more to support some of the most vulnerable people living in our communities. As well as warming bodies, Petrus also wants to warm hearts this Christmas.

Sonia Denham, Head of Petrus, said: “Everyone should have something to open on Christmas Day. And everyone deserves to feel warm and safe this winter. Our doors will be open on Christmas Day and we’ll provide dinner to everyone in need – we’d also love to give everyone a gift to open and give winter warmer clothes to help those sleeping rough at this time of year.”
