St Andrew's Church, Dearnley
St Andrew’s Church at Dearnley will be running a community scheme throughout the winter – Warm Welcome Wednesdays – from 30 November.
Warm Welcome Wednesdays is a community scheme designed to make life a little easier in these austere times for people who might be struggling to pay bills and to keep control of the family purse. There is disabled access and a disabled toilet, a warm area, free Wi-Fi and refreshments and food will be available.
St Andrew's will be open between 9am – 4.30pm for anyone to go into church, get warm, have a hot drink and something to eat or even spend a few hours with company.
Church warden Janice Perkins said: "We hope that this will help with the cost-of-living challenges and the loneliness and isolation that is more prevalent post-pandemic."
Warm Welcome Wednesdays will be held each Wednesday during the winter months.
