GCSE results 2022: St Anne’s Academy

Students at St Anne’s Academy in Middleton received some fantastic GCSE results with more top grades (9s) than ever before.
Overall, St Anne’s students achieved over 250 high level grades, of which 58 were grade 9 (or equivalent).
Peter Fairhurst has been named St Anne’s highest achieving student, after achieving nine grade 9s and two grade 8s at GCSE. He will be amongst one of the elite students across the UK for achieving a high number of grade 9s.
His grade 9s were awarded in art, biology, chemistry, English literature, H&S Care, history, maths, physics and psychology plus he also achieved grade 8s in English language and further maths.
Headteacher Chris Heyes said: "Peter has been such an exceptional student and we are all very proud of him for achieving these fantastic grades."
Special mention should also go to:
- Grace Bodgers who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s and 5 grade 7s;
- Ashley Idogun who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s and three grade 7s;
- Osavbie Smart Eugene who achieved two grade 9s, four grade 8s, three grade 7s and a grade 6 and 5;
- Abigail Cooney who achieved two grade 9s, three grade 8s, four grade 7s, two grade 6s; and
- Lucy Fraser who achieved one grade 9s, four grade 8s, two grade 7s, three grade 6s.
Chris Heyes, Headteacher, said: "These results are a culmination of three years of hard work and high quality teaching during some challenging Covid times, and I would like to recognise the outstanding work of our students, teachers and support staff.
"I am very proud to be the headteacher of St Anne’s Academy and these results reflect our ongoing improvement. I would like to wish all our leavers the very best for their next steps and look forward to hearing about their future successes."
