Car removed from Rochdale canal in Smithybridge

The BMW being removed from the canal
The car which has been submerged in the Rochdale canal near Smithybridge station was removed from the water on Saturday 3 July.
The BMW – believed to have been stolen – ended up in the water on Sunday 27 June.
Using a crane parked on Smithybridge Road on the bridge over the canal, the car was lifted onto a waiting recovery truck.
