Greater Manchester Combined Authority deputies take up portfolios

Date published: 01 November 2016

Twenty new deputies have been handed portfolio roles on the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).

In June, two councillors from each Greater Manchester local authority took up their posts as Deputies on the GMCA. Those deputies have been handed specific portfolios and will support the Leader who shares their Greater Manchester responsibilities.

Greater Manchester Mayor Tony Lloyd said: “Our new team of Greater Manchester deputies bring a whole host of new skills, experience and expertise to the GMCA. I’ve no doubt that they will all do a terrific job of taking Greater Manchester forward.

“I’m also proud that our new Deputies are overwhelmingly women and as a group better represent Greater Manchester’s diverse communities."
