Spring is well and truly on the way as Rochdale’s celebrated Artisan Market makes a return for 2022.
The market and its excellent variety of local produce is returning to Rochdale Riverside on the second Saturday of each month, starting with 12 March.
This month will see a few returning favourites to the market, including The Funky Deer Company, Cake Loves Cakes, Bee Local, EGS and Heights Farm as well as new traders which include Hunt and Peck, Forever Ted and Shakin My Pom Poms.
With all the stops being pulled out for this year, the first market of the year will offer everything you need to stock up your kitchen: artisan bread, fresh fruits and vegetables, handmade fudge, local meat from a farm butcher, organic cheese, local honey… Need we say more?
You can even get your hands on products by Rochdale’s very own Kandy Kitchen Creations, which have been in high demand ever since appearing on Dragon’s Den – but you’ll need to be quick.
If you fancy a nibble whilst you’re out and about, scrumptious samosas and tasty pies are the order of the day – or wickedly sinful cakes and treats for those with a sweet tooth!
And with spring on the way, you can pick up some new décor and bring nature inside, from handmade glass gifts and jewellery, to soy wax melts and home fragrances, plus luxurious botanical soaps.
Not forgetting our beloved pets, there will also be wholesome natural pet food available plus handmade coats, leads and toys such as squeaky bones to catnip mice – so when that paw or nose finds its way into your bags, you can safely say “I got this for you” – leaving your goods intact!
A range of stalls will also be selling beautiful gifts, such as handcrafted memory bears, gift cards, personalised goods, plus handmade silver jewellery by a trained silversmith with over 12 years’ experience (personalised orders and commissions welcome).
Paul Ambrose, manager of the Rochdale BID, which is now running the event, said: “A trip to the artisan market is a wonderful way to shop local and enjoy the town centre.
“Last year’s market events were very successful and it’s great to once again to get this market up and running again and we encourage our local community to attend.
“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make this year’s market events even bigger and better and we’re now counting down the days until Saturday.”
He added: “When you’re attending the town centre market, be sure to pop into one of the many cafes and restaurants for a bite to eat, stop for a drink in the pub, or enjoy shopping in our independent and high street shops.”
The Artisan Market will be located at Riverside from 10am-4pm, Saturday 12 March, and will return on the second Saturday of each month up to – and including – December.
