Local employers could get up to £4,000 funding if they take on an apprentice

Rochdale Training is offering employers several new incentives to recruit apprentices and offer short work experiences.

The charity-based training provider is aiming to get 100 employers pledging to recruit an apprentice in 2020.

​Apprentices registered with Rochdale Training are looking for roles in a range of sectors: engineering, manufacturing, child care, health and social care, business administration and customer services.​

Can you support a young person into work in 2020?​

Employers who recruit an apprentice through the Rochdale Training work placement programme could receive an incentive of up to £4,000.

• Start a new apprentice aged 16-24 and receive £2,000
• Recruit a new apprentice aged 25+.and receive £1,500
• Offer a short work placement of 100 hours and receive £1,000 per person
• This is in addition to the existing £1,000 incentive already provided for new apprentices aged 16-18

Mark Whittaker from Rochdale Training said: "We want more young people across Greater Manchester to have access to high quality training to gain the skills needed for future jobs.

"​There are still hundreds of young sons and daughters looking for their first step on the career ladder. Candidates are typically school and college leavers and have all been interviewed by the team at Rochdale Training.

"​The appeal is looking to get 100 pledges to recruit an apprentice in 2020. ​We currently have 45 employers who have pledged to recruit this year."

 

 

​Every employer who recruits an apprentice will be given access to incentives including; ​

• Marketing - your business will be recognised and promoted throughout the campaign
• Certificate of Support – ‘Made and Nurtured’ in Rochdale will recognise employers who support apprentices
• Access to Workforce Training Funding – Training wallet of up to £20,000
• Rochdale Training Silver Membership – Free access to discounts and free courses​
