When J.W. Lees offered Patrick Gerrard a chance to lease Success to the Plough, on Bolton Road, he grasped at the opportunity.

Patrick has plenty of experience in this field; he has already worked his magic on The Radcliffe Bars and Function Suite and transformed it into a winning venue. Work is already well under way for Success to the Plough to follow suit.

Patrick wants to provide the football club customer base from The Radcliffe Suite and the locals with a welcoming, child-friendly, community pub. Patrick hopes to improve links with Rochdale football and rugby clubs, with this new clientele adding a new lease of life back into the pub.

The pub features a play area to occupy children, as well as a bowling green and a huge beer garden. The restaurant is also available to hire for functions, catering for up to 100 people.

The sheer size of the pub means that bookings are not always necessary. Patrick said: “I can always welcome large groups who decide to pay The Success to the Plough a spur of the moment visit.”

The large car park can also accommodate lots of cars.

Cabaret nights are being planned, which will give the pub a lively atmosphere and quiz nights are being held, which will give Patrick and his staff a chance to get to know their customers better.

New chefs were hired for the pub, who use fresh ingredients for all their meals; and who cook to order so that every meal is of an equally exceptional standard. Patrick has also designed an appetising new menu, ensuring that a range of pub-grub is available to satisfy all taste buds. The attentive staff will be serving food seven days a week, right up until closing time.

Success to the Plough offers prices to suit every pocket, with various meal deals, such as the excellent 2 for £10.00 offer, a Sunday Roast 2 for £10.00 special and a kids meal deal, which boasts the tiny price of £4.50 for a main meal and a dessert.
