The Kingsway Partnership is celebrating after winning another award at the Insider Property Awards North West 2012, the region’s longest-established and best-attended awards programme for the commercial property industry.
The Public Sector Team of the Year Award recognises the major investment deals that have been secured at Kingsway over the past year and the strength of the public/private partnership working that has delivered this success.
The award gives particular recognition to the excellence of the public sector team, which played a key role in securing the funding for the new Kingsway Metrolink stop and bringing the ASDA distribution centre to Rochdale.
The Partnership, which is tasked with the long-term delivery of the 420-acre Kingsway Business Park, comprises Rochdale Development Agency, Rochdale Borough Council, Wilson Bowden, and the Homes and Communities Agency, .
Just twelve months ago the Kingsway Partnership won the Strategic Alliance Award for excellence in partnership working.
John Hudson, Chief Executive of Rochdale Development Agency, commented: “Without the Kingsway Partnership we would never have been able to create Kingsway Business Park and it continues to make a huge contribution to Kingsway’s ongoing success. Kingsway is one of the best examples of public/private partnership working in the country and we are delighted to be part of such a successful team”.
Councillor Peter Williams, Deputy Leader of Rochdale Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration said: “The award is well deserved recognition for the impressive results that the Kingsway Partnership has delivered over the past year.
"Indeed, it has been a great year for economic development and investment across Rochdale borough as a whole.
"We like to think we can bring that Rochdale spirit of cooperation and constructive support for private investment to all regeneration activities across the borough”.
The property awards, a gala celebration of the region's brightest lights in the property industry, attracted more than 900 senior professionals and business leaders. The awards comprise fourteen different categories and are decided by an independent panel of judges covering areas of expertise right across the commercial property spectrum.
