Vinesteins grand opening
Vinesteins on The Walk has become the newest food and beverage outlet to take Rochdale town centre by storm after opening last weekend.
Local chef Austin Hopley and his team pulled out all the stops to serve up samples of the menu, from roasted jalapeño and cheddar scones with an array of flavoured butters to premium Portuguese wines such as vinho verde.
With a selection of small plates, cheese boards and wines, Vinesteins aims to be a cosy lunchtime venue which will then transform into a romantic evening setting. Ingredients are sourced locally and are British where possible, and Vinesteins will also be a part of this year’s Street Eat Festival over the late May Bank Holiday weekend.
Austin has worked in hospitality for over 10 years, counting all of the Lancashire Hospitality Co-operation venues and the Etihad Stadium amongst his credentials.
Austin said: “The amount of support we have received this weekend has been overwhelming; we’ve had so much support from the local council, Rochdale BID, local businesses and the community as a whole. We are filled with excitement to see where our newest venture will take us.
“It’s very humbling that we have been able to create a community hub that so many people have enjoyed. It’s also been a fun experience working with so many great people.
“We are also working with so many exciting companies to try and achieve the excellence that Rochdale deserves. Sea Change Wines provide such amazing and ethical products that we are thrilled to stock. Brightside Brewery have provided us with multiple vegan and gluten-free beers which are produced less than nine miles away.
“The options available on the market that our British Isles are making possible is quite thrilling.”
Austin, who has also worked in Indianapolis, added: “Vinesteins has materialised because we can really see the future of Rochdale. If you stop and take a minute in the town centre to really absorb what’s really being built around our town, it’s quite exciting. We have a Hilton coming, fantastic apartments, Riverside has been completed, we have the most gorgeous new pedestrianised square surrounding the town hall being finished.
“There’s that much going on to re-face and re-shape our town into something quite spectacular, that we couldn’t not be a part of the start of Rochdale’s latest revolution, especially with the current support from our local council and BID available. Rochdale needs more food and beverage outlets: more outlets doesn’t necessarily mean more competition, it means more community.”
Vinesteins is open:
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 10am-3pm lunchtime offering and coffee club
- Thursday to Saturday: 10am-10.30pm coffee club, lunchtimes and evening service
- Sundays: 12noon-8pm full service
