A new toy story for Rochdale children

Date published: 05 December 2022

Two companies engaged in the construction of the prestigious Upperbanks development in Rochdale have set out write their own toy story for kids in the town with support for Rochdale Borough‘s ‘Giving Back’ Christmas Toy Appeal.

Building services engineering company Ameon and Willmott Dixon Construction have combined forces to ensure that disadvantaged children will not be empty handed on Christmas Day and have donated a selection of new toys to bring smiles to the faces of young girls and boys in the borough - with the construction company’s Upperbanks’ senior build manager, Jaime Dawson and management trainee Sarah Cooper, spearheading the donations, alongside Ameon principal contract manager, Dave Scott.

Dave Scott is delighted to be able to play Father Christmas. He said: “Our policy is to support local good causes and we’re proud to support this particular appeal, especially at a time of year that is all about giving.  We have a policy to support local initiatives, but we also believe  we have a responsibility to help enrich the communities in which we work, so will always step in where we can”

Richard Wright, Willmott Dixon Construction operations manager echoed the sentiments, commenting: “At this time of year nobody wants to think of children having to go without a gift at Christmas, which is why we were so keen to do all we could to help.

“It’s good on these occasions to have trusted partners such as Ameon in our supply chain, whom we know to share a similar sense of social responsibility to our own, and together we hope we can make Christmas a little happier for the children of Rochdale.”
