Businesses who supply the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors can now apply for an 'Omicron grant'
Rochdale Borough Council is now taking applications for the Omicron additional restrictions grant.
This grant has been provided for businesses that can provide evidence of a negative impact due to the rise of the Omicron variant and which operate from commercial premises.
Applications are being taken from businesses in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sector that do not have a rateable value and are unable to claim under the Omicron hospitality and leisure grant.
A one-off payment of £2,667 will be made to successful applicants who match these criteria.
Applications are also being taken from businesses that supply the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors, where they can evidence more than 50% of their turnover comes from these sectors and businesses in the travel sector, including coach and tour operators, and events.
Applications approved under these conditions will receive an amount based on the rateable value of the business premises:
- £15,000 and below (£2,667)
- £15,001 - £50,999 (£4,000)
- £51,000 and above (£6,000)
All payments are one-off; amounts are not negotiable and the council's decision is final.
Grant income received by a business is taxable. You'll need to include the Omicron Additional Restrictions Grant as income in the tax return of your business.
The closing date for applications is Friday 11 February 2022.
No payments will be made until the week beginning Monday 21 February 2022.
Applications can be made via the council’s website.
