Rochdale Men's Hockey 7 - 0 Kendal

Date published: 17 November 2015

The inclement weather conditions on Saturday could not stop Rochdale Seconds marching to victory.

Right from start Rochdale never looked in any danger.

Scott Hempsall-Jones opened the proverbial flood gates with a fantastic flick in to the top corner.

Kendal rarely threatened throughout the whole game, with the majority of the play deep in their half; the game resembling an attack versus defence training session.

The only surprise was the half time score of just 3  -0.

The second half saw Rochdale spread the play wider and stretch Kendal's defence and spirit.

Imran Ansari dominated in midfield for Rochdale and was  awarded man-of-the-match.

With only five minutes left, the rain getting heavier, and with the score at 7 - 0, the umpires called it a day.

Rochdale remain top of the division.

Skipper Karl Wynn commented: “We are away next week at Springfields, who currently sit in second place on goal difference, and although a draw would keep us top, we are aiming to put daylight between us and them, sending a real message to the rest of our division."
